Tanunda
The cultural hub of the Barossa, rich in German heritage and cellar doors.
Tanunda is the largest and most central town in the Barossa Valley, long regarded as its cultural heart. Settled by German Lutheran migrants in the 1840s, it retains historic churches, bluestone buildings and the traditions of its founders. Today the main street is lined with bakeries, butchers, galleries and tasting rooms, while surrounding vineyards produce some of Australia finest Shiraz.
