Greenock is a small, historic village on the western side of the Barossa, surrounded by some of the region's oldest vineyards. Settled in the 1840s, it retains a quiet, rural feel with bluestone cottages and a handful of standout producers. The Greenock area is associated with powerful old-vine Shiraz, and its small main street is anchored by a much-loved bakery. Its low-key character offers a glimpse of the Barossa away from the busier touring routes.
