Goat Square, Tanunda
A historic colonial square in Tanunda, the original village market place, ringed by some of the town's oldest cottages.
Goat Square is one of the Barossa's most evocative heritage sites, laid out in the 1840s as the original market place for the early German settlement of Tanunda. Ringed by some of the town's oldest stone cottages, the small square hosted markets and gatherings in the valley's pioneering years. Today it is a quiet, state-heritage-listed spot that rewards a short stroll and a pause to imagine the early village life.
