Barossa Valley Way

The valley’s spine: a vine-lined drive through every famous name

The Barossa Valley Way is the road that strings the whole region together — a gently winding route running the length of the valley floor from Gawler through Lyndoch, Tanunda, Nuriootpa and on toward Angaston.

Driving it is the simplest way to understand the Barossa's geography: vineyards crowd the verges, historic cellar doors signpost off either side, and each township arrives with its own character. It's also the natural backbone for a self-guided wine day, with most of the famous estates lying just minutes off the route.

Allow far longer than the distance suggests — every few hundred metres offers a reason to stop.
