Linke's Central Bakery

A long-standing Nuriootpa bakery turning out German cakes, streuselkuchen and the kind of pastries the Barossa was built on.

The Barossa runs on bakeries, and Linke's has been part of Nuriootpa's main street for the better part of a century. Behind the counter you'll find streuselkuchen, bee-sting cake, vanilla slices and a rotating cabinet of German-influenced baking that reflects the valley's settler heritage.

It's an unpretentious, much-loved local institution rather than a styled café. Come for a morning coffee and a slab of cake, or stock the car with pastries before a day on the cellar-door trail.
