Nuriootpa Main Street

The Barossa’s busy commercial heart on Murray Street

Nuriootpa — “Nuri” to locals — is the Barossa's largest town and its practical heart. Murray Street runs as a broad commercial spine lined with cafés, bakeries, the famous butchers, banks and everyday shops.

While the cellar doors draw visitors to the surrounding districts, Nuriootpa is where the valley does its living: it's the place to stock a picnic, grab a coffee, or watch the working life of a country town go by. Linear parkland along the North Para River threads behind the main street for an easy stroll.

It's the most useful base for stocking up and a good launch point in any direction across the valley.
