Lyndoch Bakery

A bakery-and-restaurant at the southern gateway to the valley, with a shady garden and pies worth the stop.

Lyndoch Bakery is the first proper food stop most people hit coming up from Adelaide, and it has been feeding travellers for decades. Beyond the pie cabinet there is a sit-down restaurant and a garden courtyard that makes a fine breakfast or lunch break.

The pies and pasties are the reliable order, but the kitchen does cooked breakfasts and bigger plates too. With kids in the car, the garden is a welcome place to let everyone stretch.

It is an easy, unpretentious start to a day in the Barossa.
