Gibson Wines
Concentrated old-vine reds at the quiet Light Pass end
Tucked away at Light Pass, on the quieter eastern flank of the valley, Gibson Wines is a small producer with a reputation for richly concentrated reds — particularly Shiraz drawn from old, dry-grown vines.
The cellar door is relaxed and personable, well off the main tourist run, which makes it a good choice when the marquee names get busy on weekends. The wines reward patient drinkers and cellaring.
Pair a tasting here with the heritage churches and old farmhouses that dot the Light Pass district.
