A historic cellar door built into an old quarry in the ranges above Bethany, with one of the prettiest valley views in the Barossa.
Bethany Wines traces its vineyards to 1852, and the Schrapel family tended them for generations before a group of South Australian owners took over in 2025. The cellar door is built into an old bluestone quarry, and from the deck the whole valley floor unrolls beneath you.
The range is classic Barossa: generous shiraz, grenache and a long-lived white. There is no restaurant and no fuss, just good wine and a view that earns repeat visits.
Come late in the afternoon, when the light goes gold across the vines and the village rooftops below catch fire.
