Schild Estate
A family estate near Rowland Flat with a sweeping cellar-door view and a famous old-vine shiraz.
Schild Estate sits on the southern run of the valley near Rowland Flat, and its cellar door commands one of the best panoramas of any in the Barossa. The flagship is the Moorooroo shiraz, drawn from vines planted in the 1840s - about as old as Australian viticulture gets.
The range is broad and approachable, and the deck is built for lingering. It makes an easy, generous stop on the way up from Adelaide.
