Totness Recreation Park

Totness Recreation Park protects a pocket of native woodland on the western edge of Mount Pleasant, named for one of the three small townships that merged to form the modern town. It's the kind of unassuming reserve that locals treasure and visitors drive straight past - which is exactly its charm.

Two main loop walks explore the park: an easy 1.2-kilometre circuit around the northern dam that takes about twenty minutes, and a more rugged 2.6-kilometre loop through the southern section, roughly an hour of walking among gums, wattles and granite outcrops. Early morning and late afternoon are best for birdlife, and the dams draw waterbirds after rain.
