Smallfry Wines is a boutique family operation run by Wayne and Suzi Ahrens, working organically and biodynamically across vineyards in the Vine Vale and Eden Valley areas. The cellar door, in a heritage building on Angaston's main street, has a relaxed, unpretentious feel that suits the wines, which lean towards traditional Barossa Grenache, Shiraz and Riesling made with minimal intervention. It's a good stop for travellers seeking smaller, hands-on makers away from the bigger estates.
