Angaston Main Street
A handsome heritage high street of cafés and galleries
Of all the Barossa towns, Angaston keeps perhaps the most graceful main street — a run of fine stone buildings now filled with cafés, galleries, providores, antique shops and the town's celebrated butcher.
Founded by English and Scottish settlers rather than German, Angaston has a slightly different character to its neighbours, and its high street rewards an unhurried wander. Maggie Beer's region and the eastern cellar doors lie close by.
It's a favourite for a long, leisurely lunch and an afternoon of browsing, and a natural gateway to the Eden Valley road.
