A perfect Barossa weekend

Two days of wine, long lunches, heritage and back roads

2 days A weekend escape 7 stops

The plan

Two days is enough to go deep in the Barossa without rushing. This weekend mixes the big names with the small surprises, builds in two long meals, and leaves room to wander a heritage church or a vineyard lookout between tastings.

Base yourself in Tanunda for walkability, or splash out at The Louise near Marananga. Either way, book the headline restaurants well ahead.

Day one

Start at the Saturday farmers market for breakfast and provisions, then ease into cellar doors - a heritage estate, an icon or two - before a celebratory dinner.

Day two

Go slower: a bakery breakfast, a lookout, a smaller family cellar door, and a long Sunday lunch to finish before the drive home.
